What is a Qualified Trust Service Provider(QTSP)?

A QTSP or Qualified Trust Service Provider is a body that has been approved by a regulator to provide trusted digital certificates under the electronic Identification and Signature (eIDAS) regulation. ASPSPs and third-party providers use eIDAS qualified digital certificates to ensure the integrity and proof of origin of account and payment initiation data. PSD2 requires specific types of eIDAS qualified certificates to be issued, namely the QCSEAL and QWAC certificates.
